Author Guidelines

1. Language and Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts must be written in English. Authors are encouraged to ensure grammatical accuracy and clarity before submission. Non-native English speakers may consider professional proofreading services to improve language quality.

2. Manuscript Format

  • Authors must use the official MJSAT manuscript template for initial submission and final publication.

  • The template can be downloaded from the MJSAT website. Download MJSAT Template

  • Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx) for review.

  • All text should be in Times New Roman, font size 12, 1.5 line spacing, with 2.5 cm margins.

  • Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively and provided with descriptive captions.

  • References must follow the IEEE style (7th edition) unless otherwise specified.

3. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts should be submitted via the MJSAT online submission system.

  • The corresponding author must ensure that:

    • The manuscript is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration elsewhere.

    • All authors have read and approved the submitted version.

4. Peer Review Process and Timeline

MJSAT follows a single-blind peer review process:

  1. Initial Screening – Within 2 weeks of submission, the editorial office checks for adherence to guidelines, plagiarism, and scope.

  2. Peer Review – Manuscripts passing the screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers.

    • Standard review time: 4 to 8 weeks from assignment to reviewers.

  3. Editorial Decision – Based on reviewers’ feedback, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

    • Accept

    • Minor Revision

    • Major Revision

    • Decline

      Decision notification is typically sent within 7 weeks of submission.

5. Revised Manuscripts

  • Authors must submit revised manuscripts within 3 months from the date of the editorial decision letter.

  • Requests for further extensions will only be considered upon written justification and are subject to the Editor-in-Chief’s approval.

  • Failure to submit within the stipulated timeframe may result in withdrawal of the manuscript from consideration.

6. Ethical Considerations

  • All submissions must comply with ethical standards, including:

    • Avoidance of plagiarism

    • Proper citation of sources

    • Disclosure of conflicts of interest

    • Compliance with research ethics for studies involving human participants or animals

By submitting documents to the Malaysian Journal of Science and Advanced Technology (MJSAT), the authors agree to the following:

  1. Articles are published under a Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license that allows third parties to read, download, copy and share their work provided proper acknowledgement are given.
  2. The authors retain copyright and grant Penteract Technology rights of first publication.
  3. The authors are permitted and encouraged to share their work online (e.g., in institutional repositories or on their website)
  4. The authors verify that the submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration. If submitting an article for resubmission, the submitting author will need to notify the editor through the Comments for the Editor section in the submission process.
  5. The authors are responsible to secure all necessary copyright permissions for the use of 3rd-party materials in their manuscript.
  6. The author declares that this is their original work and has been written by the stated authors.
